Carefully selected for the age group

To create a catalogue of 29 short films with target group children age 3-6, we made a list of criteria to make a selection out of the many interesting, beautiful, valuable, creative short films we've seen. The criteria are based on the following philosophical and practical principles:

The films are not necessarily made for children.
We'd like to stimulate the creativity of children, for that we selected films that uses poetic languages, and/or stimulate fantasy.
We would like to give new ideas, and show the richness of film by selecting ‘hidden pearls’, films that are not well known. For this we prefer non-narrative, abstract and experimental films.
To make the selection feasible we focus on short films for cinema. Therefore we did not select films longer than 15 minutes, tv programs, series, advertorials, video art, VR, AR, 360, vlogs, games.

We want to show the diversity within short films: we selected films from all times, different types (animation, documentary, etc.) and different genres.
Cinemini Europe will take place in several European countries. The profile of European citizens is international: we think of our young audience without borders. Therefore we’d like to present a film catalogue that is not narrow in style, culture, origin etc.
